At Bloom 2007 we were kindly allowed to take as much vegetables as we wanted from the 'Agraria' show garden (see image above). The batch includes include beans, peas, cabbages, potatoes, carrots, corn, beets, turnips, scallions, onions, pak choi, strawberries and a range of healthy and very aromatic herbs.We are currently in the process of transplanting all this veg so please try and make any of the Tuesday (7pm), Thursday(7pm) or Saturday (3pm) sessions if at all possible. We also just installed a tap. An image of the transplanted veg will follow shortly......
Agraria was a conceptual display garden created for the Dublin-Meath Growers Association to demonstrate fruit and vegetable production in Dublin’s surrounding counties and to acknowledge the support received by local growers from Tesco Ireland.

As I cycled back to Finglas from the South Circular Road garden on Tuesday night, I passed a couple of billboards advertising for the Centra shops. The logo is "From eating to eating well". Beside the girl in the ad is healthy enough looking food and drink, but it's all in plastic packaging - salads, sandwiches, smoothies all in disposable plastic containers. I was happy to have salad from the garden courtesy of the Meath Growers sitting in my bicycle basket. Now that's what I call "From eating to eating well",
