Open House Event/ Open Spaces
We had a lovely day on the 8th of October hosting the OPEN SPACE EVENT organised by the Irish Architecture Foundation. There was a lovely turn out of new visitors to the garden. We made a large pot of soup from some of the garden vegetables for lunch.
The Open Space event has been introduced to the OPEN HOUSE event to highlight and make known topical issues around our built environment. Our community garden was chosen and selected alongside the Sitric Road Community Garden to highlight the value spaces like this give to our city. Hopefully future planners and architects of our cities will take note!!
There was an exhibition and event that ran alongside this event on the 7 of October at the Exchange Gallery. Aoibheann and Nidge showed there films on the garden and Kevin read his poems inspired by gardening and rebellious vegetables. SeoidÃn worked with 5 artists on this event more can be read here: COLLECTIVE DREAMING.
